Yes there are plenty of ways to make money you can plant money in the ground and grow a money tree. Or you can sell foreign fruit or you can cheat. On your DS settings change the date to 2099 and then play you will get a letter saying something like
thank you for haveing money
in the bank for 30 days and
you now get 99,999 bells interest.
now that you have done that go back to 2000 and then repeat the first step and you will get money again.
